St Marg's campfire. Hmm, it was quite okay, but I was a bit sad when the campfire was held in the air-conditioned multi-purpose hall with a little "fire" in the middle. And the tripod fell lots of times due to the scouts.
YES. THE SCOUTS. Whenever there was an item put up by the various schools, like dances etc. The scouts were all running madly to the stage and kneeling down and "worshipping" them. Or supporting them. And the whole herd of them from all different schools gathered together. It was quite amusing to see all of them do that. And I think SJI cheered for RGS! Hahaha... I heard from peiling that hci once cheered for ny before. Hahaha!
The gateway was just an obstacle course made by twine, similar to those spider-webs whenever we have initiative games. Then we had some games to test our memory of words and colours and we also had to look for 3 pieces of paper with our school names on it. The paper was hidden under some chairs and we had to look for them. But cos our school has about 27 people in that campfire group, we had team spirit and teamwork and found them in less than 5 minutes :D
The story was something about Star World, but it wasn't the activity that most attracted me. I think the games were nice (: Ny won the first game! The games weren't as crazy as the "sexiest couple" game that was held during the campfire that lingxin went, haha! The first game is like this: we were given a few letters, namely K, U, B, E, W. and we had to find items starting with those letters. For our school, we found keys, an umbrella, the campfire booklet, huier's earring (LOL! she was really creative with that xD) and nyssa's watch. (I heard that nyssa got FULL MARKS for enrolment test, congrats! So proud of her!) And huier ran as fast as she could to the stage and almost got beaten by another school, but we still clinched first place! Yayy! Anyway, the second game wasn't that exciting as we didnt send in anyone. But luckily, in a way, as the guides had to pair up with scouts and lead the scouts, who are blindfolded, across some obstacles to the finishing line! We were given a slip of paper for the third game, but I'm not very sure about it cos there were too many people crowding around the paper.
Huier and Chinwen were, as usual, the most enthusiastic guides from our school! They were screaming and cheering (at the first part) at the top of their voices! And it was very entertaining and funny to watch them being so enthusiastic! :D :D That's about all for the campfire :)
Oh, and still having that guilt due to friday's translation class. It's like, we weren't cooperating with the teacher at all. We even forgot her name and some came in late for class! Luckily she didn't get too offended, but later on we were just chatting among ourselves when we were supposed to discuss about the mistakes in some passages, and I think that really made her mad. Plus, the visualiser couldn't work and we were not listening when other groups were presenting. Laughing... Pushing... Not wanting to present... All these contributed to the anger of the teacher. Now when i think of it, it is really inconsiderate of us. We weren't respecting her at all! Something that impacted me was when we thanked her at the end of the lesson. Her reply was, "不用谢了,因为今天你们什么都没有学过。" And I felt the guilt rushing all over me.
But anyway, don't get the Monday blues tomorrow!
aS kidS See it
