the past week:
- PGA training was way more tiring than what i expected! all 10 of us came back to school on monday with aching muscles!
- I got my first dog-bite! :O Thanks to my neighbour's dog, haha. thankfully it wasn't serious or bleeding or anything :D
- First time i really wore a dress since... primary 3?
- Ate an entire meal with my hands :)
- went for camp!!
it was a really relaxed week with career conference on monday and tuesday then camp till friday. i appreciate it that the school did this for us cos we all needed a break desperately from the heavy workload! career conference was quite cool and photojournalism was the BEST :D it was so so so cool and professional and the pictures were very interesting (: glad i chose that talk! the others didn't really leave much of an impression on me, but i think it helped a little. after career conference was camp! in sec 1-3 i kept saying that i wasn't looking forward to this camp, but in the end, it turned out great :)
people are trying to convince me that it was way better than OBS and ahh i'm a little influenced by them! but still, I enjoyed OBS alot alot alot too. the following will be a short recount of the camp, which was the most luxurious camp ever ever ever:
meals were buffet style, there were waiters cleaning up after us, there was hot MILO everyday! :D wow, everything is just.. there! sleeping on soft comfortable beds in air-conditioned rooms, enjoying the luxury of the television (we watched american idol!), water heater (bathing in warm warm water)... it was just so cool and it really is good to have this camp in sec 4, in our last year in ny (:
the workshops didn't really leave much of an impression on me, except effective communication, which i really enjoyed. the main stuff were malay extravaganza, formal dinner plus fiesta! i loved the malay extravaganza food and the dancing after that, fun fun fun! formal dinner was WOW, like you see everyone transforming into gracious young ladies :) with the makeup and all, some people actually looked really nice in dresses! hahaha yanting and camelia looked quite nice! totally different from what they usually look/behave, lol! everyone looked so different! haha chinwen had super long eyelashes and almost won the "longest eyelashes" award! pity cos she missed by a teeny bit.
before formal dinner i was actually feeling nervous, for some reason, but seeing all the friends and the great atmosphere cheered me up and made me open up, i guess :) the food was great, the class parade was so enjoyable! you feel like a VIP/star while walking down the red carpet with everyone snapping their cameras away and oh oh! i can balance in heels, which is quite unbelievable. everyone was clapping and cheering, it was so fun!! emily won miss confident, and she really deserves it -- she was a natural up there!
fiesta was really high, all the classes' performances were fantastic (: rach, don't feel too bad about our performance okay? everyone said that their classes became more bonded after camp, and i think 402's a great class to be in; it's lovable :) although i miss my old friends a lot, my new classmates are equally nice and i think 402's learning to appreciate one another more now!
photos, with captions below:
junying with "earrings"!
steffi's so adorable!
tablemates 09 :D (can you tell that there's makeup on?)
SHIPMATES! love :D we've all grown so much :)
LAM family! the special seat beside kelly is reserved for someone special!
after malay extravaganza, sylvia decided that this camp served too much food and thus, did 踢腿 exercises. after that she did sit-ups! and we're all sitting there in awe O:
debby, emily (miss confidence!) and linh!
whoo! batch 06!!! everyone looks so demure (:
SHIPMATES again! i miss them a lot :D
rubin, tingyi and yonghwang! they look cute without specs!
i wanted to capture qinyan, but the focus ended up on qinyan's classmate! (sorry, forgot her name ><) but they both looked pretty during formal dinner :)
i guess graces sort of made us more confident; a lot of us who used to dislike makeup and dresses and girly stuff are now okay with it :)
the whole thing was just an experience of a lifetime and seriously (and shockingly), i wouldn't mind doing it again :] yes, everything, makeup and all, because the time spent with all our friends was priceless and wow, up till now i'm still reeling with shock that i actually enjoyed it!
