Why does blogger seem so cool and customised now :D Couldn’t resist coming back to do a quick revamp of the blog’s layout and everything. I feel like I’m visiting an old, familiar friend (:
So. Haven’t been blogging for a while – not that there isn’t anything to blog about, but there wasn’t enough time. School’s going to get busier now with CCA and stuff but we’ll pull through (: The J1s are in, the canteen is so crowded now. Ohmy there was once we all bought food already but THERE WERE NO SEATS D: wah that was epic man we explored the whole canteen before squeezing into half of a random table. The angel-mortal game is fun and our junior class is really full of sincere guys (: or at least my angel and mortal are!
A more recent update about life – getting sunburnt. It’s a horrible feeling; haven’t felt anything like this since forever. Sleeping’s hard, putting on the uniform is hard, carrying your bag hurts quite badly. Seems like I shouldn’t have settled for SPF 30 sunblock!! But the sunburnt came about cos of Bike Rally which was pretty cool and fun though tiring. Now everyone’s red and feeling hot (literally) and our skin is radiating with heat. Time to slap on moisturiser. Spammmm.
About Bike Rally! It’s this round-island cycling event organised by NTU and we decided to go for it. The night before I was still thinking about how we’d feel and whether we’d survive the whole thing. But we did it in the end (: The whole journey was sooooo loooooong, but it was cool cos the route took us through places like Jurong/Tuas Industrial area, Kranji area (past the cemetries and past Bollywood Veggies! :] ) PASIR RIS ohmy that was really far. (we cycled past IKEA! The signs of civilisation after cycling through ulu roads of the edge of Singapore) Punggol, etc. And the ever-so-familiar Changi-ECP park connector (:
Our butts hurt quite badly, at some points in time you feel like you don’t want to get off the bike cos once you do, the pain settles in. And when you’re off your bike you don’t want to get on it anymore becuase the pain comes again. It was kind of intimidating cycling next to cars and big vehicles and buses, but it’s really nice when you encounter an empty road, it’s very shuannnggg to have it all to yourselves!
The cycling legs were long and at some parts dreary, but it was still awesome. Chionging at the last part was quite memorable, thankfully there weren’t a lot of cars on the road. The Singapore Flyer became our favourite structure of the day (that was the finishing point)! And hmm yeah our thighs, arms, back, neck, and almost every part of our body became numb but it was very, very satisfying to complete the whole route. With lots of encouragement that really helped a lot. Cycling in a group really helps; am thankful for the buddies on the road without whom I wouldn’t have had the motivation to continue! Proud of everyone (:
On a sidenote the sky was really pretty on Saturday :] Y’know I used to think that other countries had so beautiful blue skies and become envious, but actually Singapore skies are pretttyyyyy too, it’s just whether you bother to notice them or not. The wind was somehow very strong on Saturday! Or was it that we were cycling very fast?
Anyway! It was really fun and everyone should go for Bike Rally next year if you want a challenge :) Although once is quite enough for me, at least for now.
:) have a good day tomorrow!
